Senior/Principal Software Engineer for Development/Manufacturing Interface
This is a technical role requiring C++ programming experience (web based application development is a plus) to develop a PC based graphical interface to support the development, debugging, and manufacturing of an embedded medical device. This position involves all aspects of software development including requirements, design, coding, and test. Responsibilities include interacting with multi-disciplinary technical staff to determine requirements, present high level design for review, and implement, test, and support the application for the development and manufacturing teams. Additional ability to support other software tools (make files, Perl scripts, HTML, etc.) is a plus. This individual must be capable of working independently and leveraging off-the-shelf libraries while coordinating with other technical individuals regarding the assignment and status of tasks and activities necessary to achieve success in developing support tools to be used in support of medical devices.
Requirements:
- C++ programming experience using an IDE on MS Windows
- Experience with GUI design
- Experience with client-server applications

Manufacturing Transition Engineer
The Manufacturing Transition Engineer works with the product development team to ensure that the hand-off to production occurs as smoothly as possible in a fast-paced environment. The position provides exposure to a wide variety of exciting, industry-changing products.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with product development engineers evaluate and improve component Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly.
- Review and approve documentation for manufacturing concerns.
- Provide manufacturing support for development engineering prototype builds, including developing assembly instructions, fixtures, line layout, and tool requirements.
- Work with design teams to generate and manage product bill of materials.
- Manage build timing to meet aggressive project schedules.
- Provide feedback to design teams.
- Interface with component manufacturers and product integrators to evaluate new component designs and suggest improvements to reduce cost, reduce delivery time, and improve quality.

- Experience in manufacturing line planning and design.
- Manufacturing fixture design experience.
- Proficiency in training assemblers on manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of various component manufacturing processes (Injection Molding, Sheet Metal/Stamping, Casting, Forging, Machining, etc.) is desired.
- Knowledge of various assembly technologies (Electronics Assembly, Welding, Fastening, Automation, etc) also desired.

Product Development System Engineer
Description
The System Engineer will lead a team of engineers and designers in the development of new medical products. Responsibility for the technical content and integration of the various subsystems of the design rests with the Systems Engineer.
Job responsibilities include:
- Creating the system architecture to ensure reliable system function
- Writing system specifications and design descriptions
- Defining critical interfaces between subsystems
- Managing sub-system interactions to ensure proper system function
- Interfacing with team members from all engineering disciplines to solve system level engineering challenges
- Driving design goals within the entire project team; design goals may include product cost, size, weight, durability, manufacturability, and serviceability among others
- Supporting the development of project plans by estimating the effort required to complete design tasks
- Performing risk management activities including hazards analysis, fault tree analysis, and FMEA
- Coordinating formal and informal testing to confirm design functionality
- Performing failure analysis on test and production assemblies to determine root cause of failure
Requirements:

Quality Assurance System Test Manager
We have an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance System Test Manager to work in a dynamic Medical Device Research and Development environment. This is a high visibility role with a significant direct impact on the success of the project.
Responsibilities
- Leading Test Engineers and Test Technicians on new development projects insuring proper test coverage and validations of new designs
- Contributing to device Risk Assessments, Hazard Analysis, FTA’s
- Determining regression test coverage for revisions to design, environmental test coverage and other activities involving durability and reliability assessments
- Participating and contributing towards Regulatory and Agency submissions
- Communicating and resolving technical as well as administrative issues with the customer is expected
- Preparing estimates on schedule, budgets and monitoring progress against the Projects deliverables.
- This position is the primary author of Test Plans, Test Summaries, and other required QA and Regulatory documents.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in an R & D environment and proven success with product testing
- Minimum of a BS degree in a technically related field

Mechanical CAD Administrator
Experience:
Required:
- Multiple ME cad packages, specifically Inventor and Pro/Engineer.
- Power-user or similar CAD support role
- Database management (PDM link, Vault)
- Relational databases, SQL
- Excellent written/verbal skills, strong results focus
- Training / user support ability
- 3+ years in these areas
Valuable (some significant subset of these required):

- Support soft-copy control development/implementation
- Manage software – licenses, maintenance agreements, additional tools, upgrades, etc. Work with IT to define/manage hardware requirements
- Serve as primary help desk contact for CAD packages
- Provide or organize training to CAD users at DEKA as required
- Develop / manage relationship with vendors and external design houses to enable variable capacity – short term use of external designers to get through crunches
- As time is available, provide backup designer capability
