Embedded Software Engineer
This is a technical role requiring C++ programming experience on embedded systems. Responsibilities include interacting with multi-disciplinary technical staff to design, implement, and test communication and control systems on a digital signal processor (DSP) for power conversion--although no prior experience in DSP or power conversion is necessary. Some design areas are "clean-sheet" with an opportunity to take software design from conception to completion, while other areas will involve working with electrical and control system engineers to implement particular fixed-point control algorithms.
This individual must have experience and discipline in good software practices in architecting, partitioning, implementing, testing, and documenting embedded software in cooperation with other engineers.
Requirements:
- C++ programming experience with embedded systems (TI 28xx DSP experience desirable)
- Experience with task management on embedded systems without an operating system
- Experience writing low-level drivers for processor peripherals (e.g. UART, SPI, I2C)
- Experience with software build tools (make, scons, ant) and software configuration management tools
- Basic experience working with oscilloscopes and other electronic test equipment for debugging embedded system inputs and outputs
- BSCS or related degree 5-10 years experience, including co-ops or internship work
Introductory experience and/or strong ability to learn the following is very desirable:
- Writing assembly code on embedded systems
- Design/debugging of communications protocols and peripherals (CAN, TCP/IP, etc.)

Senior/Principal Software Engineer for Development/Manufacturing Interface
This is a technical role requiring C++ programming experience (web based application development is a plus) to develop a PC based graphical interface to support the development, debugging, and manufacturing of an embedded medical device. This position involves all aspects of software development including requirements, design, coding, and test. Responsibilities include interacting with multi-disciplinary technical staff to determine requirements, present high level design for review, and implement, test, and support the application for the development and manufacturing teams. Additional ability to support other software tools (make files, Perl scripts, HTML, etc.) is a plus. This individual must be capable of working independently and leveraging off-the-shelf libraries while coordinating with other technical individuals regarding the assignment and status of tasks and activities necessary to achieve success in developing support tools to be used in support of medical devices.
Requirements:

- Experience with GUI design

Manufacturing Transition Engineer
The Manufacturing Transition Engineer works with the product development team to ensure that the hand-off to production occurs as smoothly as possible in a fast-paced environment. The position provides exposure to a wide variety of exciting, industry-changing products.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with product development engineers evaluate and improve component Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly.
- Review and approve documentation for manufacturing concerns.
- Provide manufacturing support for development engineering prototype builds, including developing assembly instructions, fixtures, line layout, and tool requirements.
- Work with design teams to generate and manage product bill of materials.
- Manage build timing to meet aggressive project schedules.
- Provide feedback to design teams.

Lead System Engineer
Description
The System Engineer will lead a team of engineers and designers in the development of new products. Responsibility for the technical content and integration of the various subsystems of the design rests with the Systems Engineer.
Job responsibilities include:
- Creating the system architecture to ensure reliable system function
- Writing system specifications and design descriptions
- Writing test specifications and protocols
- Defining critical interfaces between subsystems
- Managing sub-system interactions to ensure proper system function
- Interfacing with team members from all engineering disciplines to solve system level engineering challenges
- Driving design goals within the entire project team; design goals may include product cost, size, weight, durability, manufacturability, and serviceability among others
- Supporting the development of project plans by estimating the effort required to complete design tasks
- Performing risk management activities including hazards analysis, fault tree analysis, and FMEA
- Coordinating formal and informal testing to confirm design functionality
- Provide guidance for development of test fixtures
- Performing failure analysis on test and production assemblies to determine root cause of failure

Requirements:
- MS/BS in Engineering with 10-20 years experience in electro-mechanical machine and/or product design

Electrical Engineer
This is a technical role for prototyping embedded systems. Responsibilities include interacting with multi-disciplinary technical staff to prototype and test printed circuit boards for power conversion--although no prior experience with DSP or power conversion is necessary.
This individual must have basic familiarity with practical electronic circuits (transistors, op-amps, comparators, digital logic, analog-to-digital converters, etc.). Ability to learn quickly on the job, and rapidly become familiar with printed circuit boards from schematics is very important.
