At DEKA, we’re engineers, craftsmen, and designers. But first and foremost, we’re problem solvers. That means we look at life a little differently, in an attempt to see beyond the obvious. It also means that in the process of solving problems we literally immerse ourselves in them, questioning everything and believing in nothing but our own ingenuity and abilities. It’s a method that’s helped us create effective solutions time and time again.

Because we work differently, our working environment is different. There’s no organizational chart and no established formulas for trying new approaches. All that matters is coming up with an idea, convincing the rest of the team that it has a good chance of being successful, and running with it. What’s important to note is that there are no designated idea people–everyone is encouraged to contribute inspiration. With an approach like this, we sometimes miss the mark, but if we learn something that helps contribute to the next attempt, then we don’t consider it failure. Most important is that we share success–with each other and the people whose lives we make better.
